Maite, at what point does a Graphic Designer realize the need to specialize in Web Design?
M: Well, the world evolves, and I evolve with it. At first, it was a bit out of curiosity. My partner told me about user experience, and a lightbulb moment went off in my head: "Is there anything that combines design with the study of people? I love putting myself in other people's shoes!" I started doing a little research... and it captivated me. I started the course, it captivated me even more, and then I knew I wanted to take a leap forward in my career.
What motivated you to study our Tpro-UX program? Why did you choose IIMN?
M: I was looking for a basic course that would fit my schedule, and that was online so I could work with it. I found the IIMN course, and it chile mobile database suited my needs . The program and the instructors were a real winner. It was a great choice! Nidia is a wonderful person, and she taught and helped me so much!
You got an Honors degree, how does that feel after so much effort?
M: Phew! It feels great! The last few months of the course were a bit tough. I had some personal issues and had to really push myself to make the final submission. It was like giving birth! But it was worth it. It's so nice when they recognize your work. I still can't believe it!
In your opinion, after completing the course, what does talking about Usability and User Experience mean to you?
M: I know it sounds strange, but for me, Usability and User Experience aren't just important; they're everything, whether it's on a website or app or in a neighborhood association—everything . In the end, you realize how many things could be improved to make life easier for everyone. Is it really necessary to go all the way around a neighborhood association to get from point A to point B? Can't you take a more direct route, given the possibilities? How can it be so difficult to make an online purchase in certain places? Do I really have to go through so many headaches to make any inquiry on a public administration website? Things should be easy. Now I can't stop focusing on these things ; I could spend hours talking about this!
Do you think what you learned during the course will be useful for your future designs?
M: Of course! Not just for future designs, for everything!
Finally, what would you recommend to a designer like you who is currently considering taking this course?
M: Go for it! If you're like me and love people and design, go for it, take advantage of everything you can, do your research, and get the most out of the course.
