Which one do I start with?

On the other hand, Google partners often lack SEO support and believe that performing SEO on a page can prevent their clients from investing in SEM, which may actually be true.

The reality is that both options are excellent and are not mutually exclusive. Rather, I would say they are complementary; together they work much better than separately.

SEO vs SEM
On the other hand, investing in all digital marketing options for a company at once can be very costly and sometimes unfeasible, especially for those that are not very large and lack the liquidity for massive advertising campaigns.

And you have to decide which of the two to invest in at that moment. This is where things get interesting. I'm an SEO specialist and I could say that SEO is the best option. However, that would be a big lie. The best option will have to do with the nature and objectives of your business.

SEO is great, but it takes a maturation period: 2 to 3 months to see initial results, and about a mint database year to reach a potential where the client understands how fantastic this technique is.

However, if the business undergoing SEO is highly competitive, it may take longer, even close to a year, to achieve initial results in sectors such as tourism, accounting, or virtual offices due to their difficulty and competition.

While SEM offers immediate results, it's not always possible to achieve the best possible results. Paying for advertising to get visitors to your website isn't enough if it isn't optimized and has good content, which is what SEO achieves.

A page that pays for SEM advertising (Google Ads) and isn't optimized can lose up to 70% of its results due to not having attractive content and a design that truly captivates the visitor.
