If you have just finished watching a movie or episode of your favorite series before reading this article, you have surely seen some brand in the context of the story.

In many cases, we are not even aware of them, as they develop naturally within the plot. Surely, for us, it is very normal to see Forrest Gump start running and see him put on some Nike sneakers for it, or perhaps, it is very common for us to hear Tom Hanks talk to a ball called Wilson. Well, all of this is thanks to the Product Placement technique. Don't know what it is? Inbound Colours will tell you!

1. What is Product Placement?

Product Placement is a marketing and advertising technique that consists of inserting a product or commercial brand into the plot or context of an audiovisual production.

The technique originated in North America in the early 1930s, forming part of the plot of Hollywood productions. It should be noted that almost all advertising techniques were no longer used due to the distrust they generated after the end of World War II, and it was not until 1970 that they were used again.
