New Tutanota Plans

Since we launched our first paid plans in 2015, our Premium pricing has never changed. It's time to update our plans. While the prices for existing subscribers won't change, we have an awesome one-time offer if you decide to upgrade to the new plans right now: Get the new plans for half price and benefit from more email addresses, lots of storage, and more features.

From the very beginning, Tutanota has offered the best value Premium plan: For just €1 per month, you could add your own custom domain and activate catch-all. Since we first introduced the Premium plan, we have never raised the price. However, over the past few years we have been adding a ton of features, such as unlimited search on encrypted data, unlimited offline mode, unlimited filters, conversation view, two-factor authentication (2FA) on all clients, pin and biometric unlock for mobile apps, and many more.

New plans
Despite all these improvements, we have never raised prices. This needs to change now due to a more competitive employment landscape. We need to be able to continue insurance email list to recruit top talent to improve our secure email and calendar services at a faster pace, not only in terms of security, but also in terms of features as well as user interface and experience. We plan to add more highly requested features such as email import, calendar search, shared mailboxes, calendar widget, and more; but we also have much more to come!

We have carefully evaluated what our users would like to see next in Tutanota, the “next big thing” so to speak. According to our recent survey , the two most requested features are:

Upgrade to post-quantum secure encryption (~19.4%)
Encrypted Drive Solution (~13.1%)
We are excited to announce that both improvements are planned in a single project: A post-quantum secure drive solution for storing and sharing encrypted data online.

To make this change a reality, we need to grow our team at a much faster pace than in the past. This has led us to make the difficult decision to raise prices. But we don’t want to simply charge more for the same packages, so we’re adding perks to each plan, so you can get more value in return! We’re also simplifying the pricing structure by offering pre-defined plans with the best set of features for each type of user, and removing the option to pay for add-ons on top of the selected plan.
