Mango has created a fashion startup accelerator, Mango StartUp Studio, in collaboration with the IESE Business School, with the aim of promoting innovation in the company, detecting new growth opportunities and participating in the development of new technologies and business models.
According to the textile company, the Mango accelerator will have a budget of three million euros and plans to invest in more than 50 companies in the medium term.
It seeks companies and ideas in the development phase to carry out seed capital investments that bring innovation to the fashion industry value chain and improve the customer mint data experience. Sustainability and technology, as well as all the links in the value chain , have been established as priority areas of interest for the accelerator.
The selected companies will be from Europe and must be mainly in the initial stages of development or have a recently launched product.
The agreement with IESE includes support from the business school in the process of screening initiatives, training of individuals and collaboration in meetings that help and encourage networking for the selected entrepreneurs.
Likewise, if the initiative requires it, Mango will also offer participating companies the possibility of having a location in the company's offices. Depending on the nature of the project, this co-working service could be carried out at Mango's headquarters in Palau-solità i Plegamans or at its logistics centre in Lliçà d'Amunt, as well as at Mango's Innovation Center located in the 22@ district of Barcelona.
