Use strong words in your headlines

Believe it or not, words can be classified as strong or weak. The difference depends on the impact the word has on the reader.

Study the titles of the articles you like the most. What words did the author include in the title? And in what order?

You'll start to notice patterns in the best headlines. They use strong verbs that convey action, movement, and achievement. They also eliminate stop words (words like of, for, nor, a, the, etc.) unless they're absolutely necessary for the headline to make sense.

The CoSchedule blog title demonstrates the effectiveness of this strategy. Notice how adding “That Will Get You Inspired” makes it more compelling.

This headline reassures readers that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

2. Make creative and bold statements when writing headlines
There is no point in limiting your creativity when you write headlines. In fact, one of the best headline writing tips is to let your creativity run wild.

Don’t be afraid to make bold or controversial statements. Your opinion may differ from other influential people in your industry. Don’t be afraid to take a stand.

You can also use a negative approach to get clicks. For example, I could change this headline to: Why You Don't Write Good Headlines. In other words, tell your readers what they're doing wrong — and how to fix it.

It piques your curiosity, doesn't it? That's because it challenges the norm, making you eager to hear their perspective.

3. Ask a funny or unusual question
"How many headlines can you write in an hour?"

This is a great title for an article on this topic. It gets the creative juices flowing not only for the reader but also for the author.

"Why are your headlines so lame?"

This is another example that includes a dose of humor. Just make sure you don't usa whatsapp number offend your audience if you use sarcasm or wit as part of your headline.

4. Use interesting adjectives that people will remember.
Our next pick on this list of headline writing tips is almost too simple to believe. Adjectives are meant to clarify the noun in a title or sentence. They can also add color and interest.

How can we bring this to life and make it more interesting for readers?

I might change this to: "17 Practical Running Tips You've Been Missing"

This means that the article will be filled with valuable, actionable material. I could exchange this adjective for many others:

17 Fun Running Tips You've Been Missing
17 Trusted Running Tips You've Been Overlooking
17 Useful Running Tips You've Been Missing
Each of these adjectives helps clarify for the reader the meaning of the noun "advice."
