Kinsta only supports encrypted SFTP and SSH connections (not FTP) to directly access your WordPress sites (here's the difference between FTP and SFTP).
Hardware firewalls and other active and passive security measures are in place to prevent access to your data.
Our open_basedir restrictions also do not allow PHP to run in standard directories prone to malicious scripts.
Kinsta uses Linux Containers (LXC) on top of Google Cloud bahamas whatsapp number data Platform (GCP), providing complete isolation for each account and each separate WordPress site. This is a much more secure method than competitors offer. GCP also employs encryption of data at rest.
Kinsta only runs supported versions of PHP. Unsupported PHP versions are dangerous because they no longer have security updates and are exposed to unpatched security vulnerabilities. Regular updates are your best bet.
Automatically creating two weeks of backups for site owners to restore if needed.
Two-factor authentication adds another layer of security during the login process.
All new Kinsta installations must generate a strong password to proceed.
Nothing is 100% hacker-proof, which is why Kinsta offers free hacker fixes for all customers.
It's important to note that many security plugins cause performance issues since they're always running. This is why Kinsta bans some (not all) security plugins. Kinsta also uses load balancers with Google Cloud Platform, which means that in some cases, the IP blocking features of certain security plugins won't work as intended.
If you're a Kinsta customer, we recommend using a solution like Cloudflare or Sucuri, in combination with Kinsta, especially if you need additional protection or help mitigating bot and/or proxy traffic. Sucuri is known for its ability to help quickly mitigate DDoS attacks. If you're using Cloudflare, you can also configure recommended firewall settings.
