Social media influencer
Fake gurus and social media influencers are another common scam to watch out for. These fake influencers or self-styled gurus often pretend to be experts in something and usually sell courses and training sessions 1 on.

They may ask you to refer unsuspecting clients and promise you a lucrative commission when someone enrolls in their course, follows them on social media, or signs up for their email list.

These scammers sell customers useless and low-value courses. They may also refuse to pay affiliate marketers, not recognizing the leads or conversions they provide.

To make matters worse, there are many legitimate experts selling online courses and panama telemarketing data mentorship programs. This makes it difficult for affiliate marketers to distinguish between legitimate companies and scammers.

How to identify this scam:

These scammers usually have no record of their alleged experience. Their testimonials may appear to be fake and unverifiable. They often use aggressive tactics to make sales and most of their followers on media profiles are bot accounts.

6. Phishing scams
Phishing scams
Phishing is another common tactic used by scammers to target affiliate marketers.

They create fake websites or emails that look like legitimate affiliate programs, tricking affiliates into providing login credentials or personal information.

In addition to fake websites and emails, scammers can target affiliates on media websites and messaging apps. They can use branded images from popular affiliate platforms to trick victims into thinking they are talking to an official account.
