Cost per click (CPC) on Facebook
Cost per click, per month
CPCs started 2021 at a low point, before rising steadily throughout the year. This oman phone number data trend is consistent every year except for 2020, when the opposite occurred. An anomaly was also notable in the second quarter of that year, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, CPC reached its lowest point in April, at $0.33. This is nearly 23% lower than in April 2019. This drop makes perfect sense, as CPC is directly linked to the intensity of competition, and many advertisers stopped their campaigns during the pandemic.

Compared to 2021, we see that CPCs in Q1 are lower and reach their peak in Q4 thanks to the holiday season and the competition between advertisers around this period.

What do these numbers mean to you?

You guessed it, your ads will likely cost you more in 2024 than in 2023 and 2022. To maximize your ROI, make sure you optimize your campaign objective and the quality of your ads.
Not targeting individuals? You can reduce your Facebook ads in Q4 to avoid competing with e-commerce brands and reduce costs. During this period, feel free to focus on other digital marketing initiatives.
Anticipate the likely cost decline in Q1 2024: prepare your campaigns to take full advantage of the lowest CPCs of the year.
Cost per click, by day of the week
Facebook ad CPCs are generally lower on weekends. Why is that? It's simply a matter of supply and demand: for the same number of advertisers, social media is busier on weekends. As a result, there are more placements available, and you can win lower bids.

Still, the difference isn't huge. Don't go all-in on Saturday, for example! In 2019, CPC was up to $0.10 lower on weekends. This difference was limited to 2 or 3 cents in 2020 and 2021. (Q2 2020 is a notable exception due to the suspension of many ad campaigns.)

What do these numbers mean to you?

For most of you, absolutely nothing. Run your ads every day unless your data convinces you that your customers are isolating themselves on a desert island on the weekend.
Cost per click, per hour
Clicks are cheaper between midnight and 6 a.m. (the local time of the people who see them). But does that make sense to only expose insomniacs to your ads? Why not, if you sell pillows, coffee, sleep-aid supplements, or candy?
