The purpose and context of the survey, as well as the placement of the questions and the way in which they are asked, have an impact on the responses given by the respondents and therefore on the results.

On the occasion of the publication of this post takes stock. The 2024 edition of the work brings together three analyses of "experienced" or "felt" discrimination based on recent public statistics surveys: the Trajectories and Origins 2019-2020 survey (TeO2) conducted by INSEE and INED, the Autonomy survey by DREES collected in 2022, and the 2022 Experiences and spam database Feelings in Security (VRS) survey by the Ministry of Internal Security's statistical service.


The concept of discrimination became more common in France in the late 1990s . In 1998, the High Council for Integration published the report " Fight against discrimination: Enforcing the principle of equality ."
