What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear about people who work as online entrepreneurs or internet marketers whose business is 100% in cyberspace?
"Wow, it's really great , you can work from anywhere as long as there is internet."
“ No need to get stuck in traffic jams on the way to the office.”
"It feels like I'm not working, I can play games on the computer."
About 90% of people I just met think that way…at first.
There is some truth to this assumption, but telegram database it turns out that not everything feels pleasant.
If you want to try to become a serious online businessman, I will tell you some stories based on personal experience.
A little about me
I am an engineering graduate who never dreamed of becoming an online marketer.
Since a few years ago I have switched from offline work to online business because in the end I prefer it here.
Here are some of the joys and sorrows based on my own experience.
1. Other people don't understand, it's hard to explain
This is a dilemma I face every time I get to know other people.
If asked about my job, my answer is “online marketer, sir/madam”.
"What do you do for work, bro?"
Okay..what do I do for work?
Basically, my job is more than 1 type.
Create a website that sells your own or affiliate products/services, then promote this website through advertising, search engine optimization, and social media.
Promote CPA or affiliate products with paid media such as PPC, PPV, and other online advertising media to earn commission on each sale.
Consultation services for those who want to understand more about online marketing.
Optimization services for online business owners who want better results.
Until now, I am still confused about how to explain all this to other people when asked about work.
So my usual answer is “marketing something on the internet”. Then I change the topic.
2. Not instant as people say
If you are currently playing around on business forum sites in Indonesia, you will definitely see how people say that online business can bring in money in an instant.
This was also the reason why I was attracted to this industry.
The reality? Dead wrong.
People who say things like that are ultimately selling something. Selling a product or selling a course.
It could also be because they want to get referrals. For example, like the Ponzi Scheme that is rampant in Indonesia with the term MMM (Manusia Bantuan Manusia).
Referral
Here are 3 examples looking for referrals from one of the largest forums in Indonesia.
They promise something tempting so that other people register to become their referrals, and they get a commission.
Even though maybe everything they say is nonsense. It has not been proven by themselves.
This is not an online business but Humans Deceiving Humans (MMM).
Just like offline businesses or office jobs, online businesses also require effort, dedication, and time.
How does it feel to be an Indonesian whose business is 100% online?
