You can, based on the new professions that make sense to you, start studying, taking courses and talking to professionals in the field. If you are not yet ready to make a decision, a great technique that will help you is Career Design . For this article, we spoke exclusively with Thiago HC, creator of the career design methodology, who will show us the 3 simple steps so that you can successfully make this transition.

The first step is self-knowledge . Understanding your past to plan a better future. A simple way to do this is through a timeline . Draw a horizontal line on a piece of paper and mark the years. Write down your first experience, which taiwan mobile phone number list doesn't need to be paid, and over the years, fill in all your professional experiences. The trick is to put points upwards where you felt fulfilledhe less happy you are; the higher you are, the happier you are.

From there, ask yourself why you were happy or unhappy. Ex.: In this job I was unhappy because of the bureaucracy. Write this down for all points.

Why is this so important? Thiago says that a client had a terrible experience with teamwork. Whenever he worked with a team, he didn't do well. For this person, more individual work as a freelancer might make sense. On the other hand, there are people who need other people to deepen their knowledge, for them, working in a coworking space or in a team makes perfect sense.

The second step is the experimentation phase . One tool for this is the networking canvas. Do this by dividing it into 3 columns. In the first column, list people who have worked with you professionally and who can recommend you. In the second, list people who inspire you. Not necessarily people you have worked with, but they need to be in your network. Lastly, list the people you think would not recommend you.

Once this step is complete, you state the reason why they wouldn't recommend you. For example: they wouldn't recommend me because I'm quiet. This is a characteristic. For people who inspire you, also state why they inspire you. This column will show the things you hope to find at work. The first column will show your strengths. So, you take the new professions you imagine starting and schedule a conversation with people on LinkedIn , for example, who work in that profession or career. This may seem like a tactic that won't work, but when you start a conversation on LinkedIn , even with strangers, and say that you want to learn about their career, they usually open up. From there, you expose your strengths to them to check if the environment is receptive and if your characteristics (points pointed out as negative) could get in the way. This helps guide the conversation and get rich feedback.

The third step is the definition . An interesting tool is to put yourself on the cover of a magazine and think about what the title would be and the 3 questions the interviewer would ask. For example, in Thiago's case, he would define the title as follows: “How a career designer can transform the lives of millions of Brazilians”. The 3 questions would be “What is the method?”, “How can it be applied?” and “What are the next steps?”. Also think about which magazine you would appear in. In Thiago's case, it would be Exame or Você SA.

Magazine looking for talent

This provocation is interesting because if you don't know the answer to what the magazine is, for example, it's a sign that you need to research the profession better. If you're not aware of what questions would be asked, it's a sign that you need to understand more about that profession, perhaps you're not yet mature enough.

These are the 3 validated steps that have helped many people make an assertive transition to new digital and normal professions. We hope it works for you too.
