“From our office, we are continuously working on content creation and optimal allocation of this content with regard to owned, earned and paid media. We clearly see a continuous trend in the number of views that our series of films for Garuda Indonesia generate, which we make for the business traveler. In Executive Class Stories, we follow famous Dutch people or business people on their trip to Indonesia. All branded video content that we produce, whether or not it is part of a campaign , is brought together on the brand's own YouTube channel . This has now achieved more than half a million video views and that number continues to rise as we continue to add new material.”
Video SEO
YouTube is the 2nd search engine in the world (after owner Google). However, YouTube still cannot 'read' a video. In order to obtain a good position in the natural search results, the content (metadata) must be optimized, better known as Video SEO (Search Engine Optimization). With a single video, the chance that you will end up high in the search results is quite small (videos that have gone viral excepted); with dozens or a few hundred videos that also refer to each other, that becomes a completely different story.
The structural use of own media is also not an unknown phenomenon for racing driver and entrepreneur Tom Coronel. He has been the face in the own videos for the Create2Fit webshops, such as wassen.nl, for years. Coronel:
“We produce videos that really go into depth about a product, we really want to act as the digital salesperson, so that we already have all the questions people have answered when they click the order button or come by to pick up the device.”
These films do not even have to deliver a lot of views per piece: the quantity and mutual coherence reinforce each other and ensure a good position in the search results of YouTube (and Google). It is surprising that relatively few brands have discovered the power of video SEO in the Netherlands. In order to build (and maintain) such a position, video must be used structurally.
In-house vs. outsource
E-tailers such as Create2Fit, wehkamp.nl and CoolBlue recognise the power of online video and are now using it in a structural manner. They do differ in their approach, however. By setting up their own in-house video unit for over 140 webshops, CoolBlue has the ambition to produce 80 short videos per week in which they review new products and give users tips. wehkamp.nl also produces the online review videos in-house.
“I have been working with Alvin for years, so it was only logical to do this with him as well. He arranges everything around the production: from writing the texts, the recordings, the editing, and, not unimportantly, the subtitling. You wouldn't believe how many people watch our videos at work without sound.”
Scale size
A lower price per video is often a result of the scale india phone data of production. Tom Coronel:
“I always tell an importer that a video costs between €750 and €1000. That is an all-in price, so from pre-production to editing and subtitling. But then we record several per day.”
Scale is also the most important factor for Dennis van Droffelaar of NewClip to achieve lower rates on average. The company is active in the travel industry and makes, among other things, destination films and short accommodation films. According to Van Doffelaar, such an accommodation film costs around €1,000, depending on planning, size of the project and specific wishes of the client. His company records multiple films on location at the same time. Van Droffelaar:
“Of course we make a product that is completely finished, including design and music. Destination films require more preparation, shooting days and hours in editing and will therefore be more expensive.”
The short accommodation films respond to the need of viewers to be quickly informed and inspired.
