Map your old URLs to the new URLs

Next, build a list of the pages on your current site.

Once the migration is complete, you will need to set up redirects from all old pages to their new location on the new domain.

To do this, crawl your website using Semrush 's Site Audit tool .

Click on “ Site Audit ” in the left navigation bar. It’s under “On Page & Tech SEO”. Enter your domain and click “ Start Audit ”.

Once the crawl is complete, click on the " Crawled Pages " tab to see the full list of URLs on your domain. In the upper right corner, click " Export " and choose either " Export to XLSX " for Excel or " Export to CSV ".

At this point you will need to match each of your old URLs to the new URL where the same content now resides.

If your content URLs remain the same apart from the domain name, then things will be pretty easy. Your new URL will simply be the same as your old one, but with the domain swapped.

If you also change the subfolders or URL slugs of your site's pages, you'll need to be careful when matching the old URLs to the new ones.
