The rapidly growing Google service is breathing down Hotmail's neck with a 31 percent market share. Yahoo Mail , on the other hand, has long held a market share of around 32 percent. Microsoft aims to grow again by renaming its email service Outlook, a name that users are accustomed to from Office programs.
“It is time for a new perspective” Hotmail , one of the first email services in the world , was launched in 1996. However, Microsoft had neglected this service for about eight years and had not made any innovations. In a statement on Microsoft's official blog page, the company's Vice President of Windows Live, Chris Jones , said, "A lot has changed in eight years, and we think it's time to bring a new perspective to the email service.
