Renewables breaking barriers

On the other hand, thanks to the use of renewable energies in their different uses, 8.702 billion were saved in fossil imports and 1.017 billion in emission rights.
As for the electricity market, 37% of electricity came from renewable sources, for which 5.732 billion euros were received in specific remuneration. In addition, due to the depressing effect of renewable energies, they reduced the market price by 4.365 billion euros.
The Spanish energy market in full swing
In 2009, 10 years before this study was carried out, the contribution to GDP of wind, hydroelectric and solar photovoltaic energy, by type of technology, together represented 82.9% of the total contribution of the sector in 2009.
Spain was able to advance the energy transition and thanks to this, in technologies such as wind energy, we appear as one of the world's leading countries. However, there is still a long way to go, so it is necessary to lay the foundations for the country's energy future and to be able to provide a prosperous energy and economic future for future generations.
