Why are Core Web Vitals important?
In 2020, Google announced that page experience would become an official ranking factor in its algorithm , and that Core Web Vitals would be an important part of a site’s ranking score.
Over the next 2 years, the update was gradually rolled out to all users globally, and is now fully operational.
Google's new on-page experience, therefore, consists of a mix of factors that Google considers important for the user experience:
HTTPS.
Mobile compatibility.
No interstitial pop-ups.
"Safe Browsing" (basically, no malware on the page).
And the Core Web Vitals .
It’s important to note that a great Page Experience score won’t magically get you to the top spot on Google . In fact, Google was quick to point out that Page Experience is one of many (around 200 ) factors it uses to rank sites in search.
