Beyond the competition, a popular show

Post by badsha0025 »

Under the slogan "Let's open the Games wide," France is aiming for inclusive Games, with an opening ceremony and events in the heart of the city, and the desire to raise awareness and promote women's sport and parasport.

To study these phenomena in detail, the Injep will analyze the profile of the public (spectators, television viewers, volunteers) and their experience of the Games, through several mechanisms: a statistical survey of a sample of the French population, the analysis of ticketing data, a statistical survey of the 50,000 volunteers of Paris 2024 and the Paris City Hall, and finally the study of television audience data in partnership with the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) and Médiamétrie.

These surveys will first describe the 2 to 3 million unique spectators advertising database expected during these Games, as well as the tens of millions of television viewers in France: are they representative of the population of the Île-de-France region and France, or conversely, of people who usually follow sports competitions? Will the so-called "popular" ticketing system, set up by the State and local authorities, have enabled people from more modest backgrounds to attend the competitions? Will these Games in France change the perceptions of the French towards sport, particularly women's and Paralympic sport? Will they strengthen well-being or even national cohesion, as other major sporting events have done in the short term ( Euro 2016 , London Games )? These are all questions that the surveys conducted by the Injep will help answer, with initial results by the end of 2024.
