Communication on social networks according to Vítězslav Klement

Post by kumartk »

In a new interview for Laba blog, we asked Vítězslav Klement about the world of social media. Before founding his own agency Lost Bunny Communication, he worked as a Social Media Skillhead at the media agency GroupM.

Vítězslav will share his practical know-how with you in the popular Laba Social Media Marketing course , and his insights from the networks in the following lines.

Twitter (X) or Threads?
Neither. (laughs) There is no one on Threads and no one would rather be on Twitter. In my opinion, Threads is a practical example of someone figuring out what you will like for you and telling you that you will be using it starting tomorrow. But that is not how it works. The low number of users and their low activity speak against Threads. In addition, there is no data, india mobile number data unknown user demographics, no advertising formats, etc.

Well, Twitter, or X, in Czech terms, is the worst cesspool of the online environment. Perhaps even worse than Mimibazar.

What seemed like a trend on social media recently, and is now completely out?
If I had to mention one of all those unfulfilled desires, it would be long videos. In the first case, the trend was to watch longer videos, individual platforms like TikTok or Instagram started to "extend" their video formats, saying that "if it's good quality, it can be longer."

Which I don't think has been fully realized in terms of user consumption. The average time spent watching videos on the networks is stagnating at best rather than growing, and Instagram itself announced a few weeks ago that Reels videos longer than 90 seconds don't work as well as shorter ones.

Which network is currently in its infancy or virtually unknown and has the potential to grow a lot?
I'm a little worried, and not everyone will like to hear this, that the last platform that really made a splash out of nothing was TikTok. Nobody knows Clubhouse anymore, Threads is going the same way of being forgotten. Pinterest and Snapchat are quietly bubbling up in the Czech Republic , especially for specific industries and target groups. But I don't think there's a big thing coming our way in the near future that will make us all settle down.

What should we not do on social media so that its use does not damage our mental health?
I am convinced that if a person has the predisposition to destroy their mental health, they will destroy it regardless of their (in)activity on social media. I don't see it quite the way it is often presented, that with every hour spent on TikTok, one dwarf rabbit dies. However, the advice is clear - as with anything else, take social media with a grain of salt and don't compare yourself to others. Because our lives on social media are one big fake. (laughs)
