Entrepreneurs make more accurate economic projections

Post by rabia198 »

The typical entrepreneur is an optimistic person who always imagines the future to be better than the present. Naturally, this is reflected in the projections of financial results that he makes for his company.

This reputation of entrepreneurs ends up labeling them as people who often exaggerate their vision of the future, who are dreamers, who take irrational risks and, therefore, should be more down to earth.

However, a recent study published by Walter Frick (Entrepreneurs Don't Have an Optimism Bias) seems to contradict this idea and, on the contrary, shows that entrepreneurs are good at economic projections.

Entrepreneurial optimism seems to have its italy phone numbers advantages. In a survey of Swedish citizens conducted from 1996 to 2009, people who were not employed by companies made more accurate predictions about the health of the economy and GDP (gross domestic product) growth.

To reach this conclusion, a comparison was made with the predictions of those citizens considered less entrepreneurial (and more pessimistic).

What is the conclusion of the researcher in charge? That even though entrepreneurs are notoriously optimistic and often unrealistic about their predictions for their own business, they are good at predicting the future of the economy.

This has its positive side, because if pessimism prevailed in the lives of entrepreneurs, the most innovative business ideas would simply cease to exist, because when any challenge arises, many would give up on overcoming it.

Nowadays, it is common to see news about the economic problems of the country and the world, and the bleak scenario that presents itself for the future (at least in the view of economists).

For those who want to start a business, this could be a warning to step on the brakes. Or the opposite, since there are well-known cases of successful entrepreneurs who started their businesses during times of crisis.

If you are thinking about setting up your business now or in the coming months, take into account that, despite the country's low economic growth, there are many opportunities for innovative ideas in the Brazilian market and abroad.
