You can also do this step in Google if you want to start your search with the topic.

Find a topic in your niche that you would like to explore further. Then, take a look at the pages that rank on the first page.

Make sure to do research beyond just traffic and backlinks. Review pages to take note of content, graphics, etc. that you can still improve on your own page.

Once you have gathered enough information, create your article to compete with the pages you found in your search.
